Olivet Baptist Church offers exciting programs for youth of all ages that are designed to instill the Word of God in interactive, age-appropriate forms.
- Childrens Church is for children age two through grade six. The program for the 2′s & 3′s and 4′s & 5′s includes sound Biblical teaching, snacks and crafts. The older children, grades 1 – 6, are studying through the Bible in six years.
- Youth Group is for young people grades seven through twelve. Many events are scheduled for this age group including activities, fundraisers, charity work, etc.
- AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and comes from the verse “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15.
- Vacation Bible School – Each year Olivet Baptist Church holds a Vacation Bible School. The theme for the 2011 VBS was: Rev It Up – Full Throttle for God!
The Crossroads class
This group started out as the Young Families class and has grown together over the last several years. The name was changed to the “Crossroads” class to reflect the fact that we try to minister to more than just families with young children. Monthly activities continue to give much needed support and fellowship to those in our group.
The Middlers
Call us what you want, middle age, betweeners, just a little older,…….we’re the Middlers. We are a group within Olivet Baptist Church that fit somewhere between young couples and our senior saints. We have Christian fellowship through a number of monthly activities.
The Prime Timers
We are the senior saints. We may not move as quickly as we used to, but we are a busy group with activities every third Tuesday of the month. Sometimes we meet at the church for these activities and other times we go out to eat together or take day trips to see sights of interest.
Music Ministry
Music at Olivet Baptist is a very important part of the ministry. In addition to congregational singing accompanied by our orchestra, piano and organ, we have special music at each service. Our Choir has performed a number of Easter dramas along with some cantata productions at Christmas time.
